- C&S has decided to donate 100,000 N95 masks to hospitals in 4 states and finance 22 food banks across the United States.
- C&S supplies 137000 products to 7,700 supermarkets, chain stores, military bases and institutions across the country.
C&S Wholesale grocers have announced that a new nationwide relief campaign against COVID 19 Pandemic in America. In this relief campaign, the company will supply 100,000 KN95 masks and $300,000 in donations. This supply will be for hospitals that are hard hit because of the virus as well as to provide financial support for food banks and other charities across the country.
Mike Duffy, the CEO of C&S Wholesale Grocers said that the all communities across the United States and C&S stand united to fight this pandemic and said that C&S is proud to donate 100,000 KN95 masks to support hospitals and people on the frontlines fighting the virus and also revealed that the company is ready to extend financial support to all charities feeding families suffering the economic consequences of the pandemic.
C&S will distribute these masks among hospitals in 4 states which include the most hard-hit regions namely New Jersey, Pennsylvania, California, and Massachusetts. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will also be provided to some hospitals in these regions.
C&S will also provide financial support to 22 foodbanks nationwide as well as to feeding America’s COVID 19 response fund that provides food and funding to food banks in the country.
C&S has also started an employee giving campaign within the company where employees can make donations to colleagues who are in financial need due to the COVID 19 crisis. Miriam Ort, Chief Human Resource Officer at C&S Wholesale Grocers said that the employees within the company are committed to taking care of each other and by merging the national relief effort with the employee giving campaign, the company will positively impact communities nationwide. She also expressed her happiness about the fact that the company is doing all it can to help by doing its part.
C&S has been taking steps to support the industry since the beginning of the outbreak and has previously partnered with food distributors like US Foods, Sysco, Performance food group to help workers in the food retail and foodservice businesses because of the shutdown of thousands of restaurants across the country severely limiting business.
Back in March CEO Duffy expressed his joy with the fact that every C&S employee has done the best possible they can to help the community during these difficult times and said that he was extremely proud of the fact that his workers were working countless hours to make sure that the shelves were stocked.
