FPT Software, a global IT services company, has reportedly inked an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Toho Gas, a leading gas and energy company in Japan. This collaboration represents a significant achievement for FPT Software in the delivery of solutions and services for the energy and utilities sectors, as well as an affirmation of the established position of the company in the Japanese market.
Apparently, Toho Gas, along with its subsidiary Toho Gas Information System Co., Ltd. and FPT Software will establish an offshore development center in Da Nang, Vietnam, as part of the MOU. With a team of 50 professional IT engineers, the ODC will support Toho Gas and TOGIS. To maintain its industry competitiveness, Toho Gas has expanded its personnel to keep up with the newest advancements powered by digital technology and data analytics.
According to the report, this agreement is based on the continuous, successful partnership between the two businesses that began at the end of 2019, during which FPT Software assisted Toho Gas in several system migration projects. Despite COVID-19 obstacles, FPT Software succeeded in completing these projects effectively, contributing significantly to Toho Gas's business continuity. Toho Gas was able to tackle its "vendor lock-in" problem by cooperating with FPT Software, cutting expenses and limitations in tools and services imposed by reliance on a single IT provider.
Do Van Khac, CEO of FPT Japan, stated that this collaboration highlights Toho Gas's trust and confidence in FPT Software. The company pledges to deliver effective results and promote a productive partnership with Toho Gas by offering cutting-edge solutions, first-rate services, and a skilled IT team.
