Producer of Good Catch® plant-based seafood, Gathered Foods, has reportedly announced Dot Foods, the largest food sector redistributor in North America, as its new distribution partner. This collaboration will make products of Good Catch obtainable to a wider set of businesses and foodservice accounts across more locations, increasing the accessibility across the nation.
The product line of Good Catch plant-based seafood at Dot Foods comprises plant-based frozen entrees and appetizers which include Breaded Fish Fillets, Classic Fish Burgers, and Breaded Crab Cakes as well as plant-based Tuna-Style Flakes.
Good Catch has created prospects to reach potential buyers through the unique restaurant and retail segments via the continued product commitment and innovation of the brand.
In July, Good Catch Breaded Fish Fillets and Crab Cakes were promoted as the first plant-based products on the menu at the country's largest outlet of quick-service seafood, Long John Silver’s. This growth affirms the customer appetite for more alternatives to seafood, as the organic sector continues to proliferate.
Illinois-based Dot Foods has close to 12 distribution centers providing services across all the 50 states, with Good Catch products being already delivered. The extensive network of Dot will increase the accessibility of Good Catch plant-based seafood from regional chains and high-volume organizations to smaller pop-n-mom businesses.
Christine Mei, the Chief Executive Officer of Gathered Foods, supposedly commented that the distribution collaboration allows the company to significantly upscale its foodservice presence and enables a wider consumer range, from flexitarians to vegans, to experience the great-tasting products of Good Catch.
2021 has reportedly proved to be a stellar year for Gathered Foods so far. The food company recently announced its collaboration with Mission Blue, the nonprofit of Dr. Sylvia Earle, for an ongoing consumer call to action and sponsorship to help shift the deterioration of marine wildlife.
Before that, Gathered Foods earned a B-2 bridge funding and secured around USD 26.3 million with the involvement of investors like Louis Dreyfus Company.
