Toronto based Halo Labs Inc. recently announced the commencement of a pilot superfiltration program of live resin, waxes and fats, terpenes, tails and low-grade distillate at the company’s Coastal Harvest center in Cathedral City, California. Reportedly, the company specializes in the extraction of cannabis and has internal regulations that are firmer than those compared to the state rules for levels of pesticides in cannabis-based products. Apparently, owing to the policies in California, the firm has separated nearly 1,350,000 grams of product that was declared as a waste. In a statement by Halo Labs, the company claims that its superfiltration process is environmentally friendly and reduces the levels of pesticides much below the regulatory guidelines in California. Moreover, the latest studies showcase a certain reduction in the levels of pesticides to non-detectable levels along with retaining close to 95% of the input weight. Notably, the company claims that the approximate total cost per gram, including lost material, is valued at less than US$0.75 per grams based on the original input weight. Along with the approximate 1,350,000 grams of the firm’s Waste Product that has been written off and may require remediation, Halo Labs is of the opinion that there are tens of millions of dollars of concentrates and oil in California within the Marijuana Enforcement Tracking Reporting Compliance seed to end sale tracking mechanism at producers, distributors, and dispensaries that may use the superfiltration technology by the company. The company has been able to commercialize the process by using Germany-sourced high caliber VTA machinery with its innovative superfiltration process. Established in the year 1987, Halo Labs is a prominent cannabis cultivation, manufacturing and supplying firm that grows and processes superior quality cannabis flower, oil and concentrates and has sold more than 5 million grams of oils and concentrates since beginning its operations.
