Reports confirm that subsidiary of Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering Holdings Bhd (MHB) and its consortium partner have entered into a long-term offshore agreement with Saudi Aramco, the national petroleum and natural gas company of Saudi Arabia. MHB mentioned in a statement that Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Sdn Bhd (MMHE) has signed the agreement along with London-based TechnipFMC.
According to MBH, the agreement would be valid for six years with an option of extending it for six additional years. The deal covers engineering, procuring, fabricating, transporting and installing offshore facilities to support the Offshore Maintain Potential Program of Saudi Aramco, as well as other works within the waters of Saudi Arabia.
Wan Mashitah Wan Abdullah Sani, the CEO and Managing Director of MMHE, said the company has partnered with Saudi Aramco to support their offshore development programs. The entry of MMHE into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia signifies and important landmark for the Heavy Engineering unit of the Group, aligned with its growth strategy to expand portfolio in the global market.
The statement made by MHB further informed that the Group has won a contract from TechnipFMC for fabricating the Pluto Water Handling Module. Targeted for completion in the last quarter of 2020, the module would be installed on the current Pluto Alpha Gas Production Platform of Woodside Energy Ltd., which is located offshore Western Australia.
For the uninitiated, MHB is recognized worldwide for its expertise in offshore conversion services and the repair of dry docks and natural liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessels. It has been delivering complex and integrated solutions for more than 40 years now, including deep sea support services for global customers in the oil and gas sector. MHB also owns and runs a region Center of Excellence, which is a learning center which provides the industry with technical expert workers.
